The Oakland A's announced an agreement Thursday, 4月4日, 2024 with ownership of the Sacramento River Cats to relocate the team to West Sacramento for the 2025-27 seasons, while the club's new ballpark is being built in Las Vegas.

Mayor and Chair of the River City Financing Authority Martha Guerrero and City Manager Aaron Laurel expressed excitement about the deal, highlighting the city's readiness to welcome the team and fans from across Northern California.

“We’re delighted to welcome the Oakland A’s and Major League Baseball to West Sacramento,” said Mayor Guerrero. “This is a great honor, and we’re looking forward to hosting visiting MLB teams and fans from throughout the region at our beautiful ballpark along the Sacramento River.”

City Manager Laurel says the City is ready. “We’re prepared to accommodate the A’s and the River Cats to ensure a seamless transition for both teams and their fans.”

Sutter Health Park, located adjacent to the Sacramento River, offers stunning views of Tower Bridge and downtown Sacramento. As the City of West Sacramento prepares to welcome the A's, excitement is building among residents and businesses alike.

Drake’s: The Barn beer garden and restaurant, along with French-inspired wine bar and café Franquette across the street, anchor the Bridge District’s dining options. There are several other restaurants along West Sacramento’s Third Street corridor within walking distance of the ballpark.

”在一起, with our neighbors across the river in Sacramento, there will be no shortage of amenities available to A’s fans and those from visiting teams,” said Laurel.
